In Andhra Pradesh , ball flower prices have plunged significantly, leaving farmers in distress due to a lack of reasonable pricing. During Ganesh Chaturthi, the price per kilogram ranged between ₹50-60 , but it has steadily decreased since then. Currently, farmers are unable to sell their flowers for even ₹10 per kilogram, leading to financial losses.
In several areas, farmers have been forced to discard their flowers along roadsides, unable to find buyers. They are urging for a minimum price of ₹35-40 per kilogram to recover their investments . The sudden drop in prices has left many farmers struggling to cover production costs, and they are pinning their hopes on the upcoming Dussehra season to improve the market situation. Farmers are calling for better price support to avoid further financial ruin.
