Bandi Bhagirath POCSO Case: Court Allows Three-Day Police Custody

Bandi Bhagirath POCSO Case court hearing and police custody update

A major development has emerged in the Bandi Bhagirath POCSO Case after a Medchal-Malkajgiri court allowed police to take Bandi Bhagirath into custody for three days. The accused is currently in judicial remand at Chanchalguda Jail. Police said the custody will help them collect more evidence and question him in detail.

The Bandi Bhagirath POCSO Case created a political stir in Telangana because the accused is the son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Police registered the case at Pet Basheerabad Police Station under several sections of the POCSO Act after allegations involving a minor girl surfaced.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Kukatpally DCP Ritiraj has already questioned the victim, her mother, and several friends of Bhagirath. Investigators are also examining digital and witness evidence connected to the case.

Police will begin the three-day interrogation from Wednesday, and officials believe it could play a key role in the ongoing investigation.
