A man and his son were injured in two separate explosions at Jeeda village in Bathinda on Wednesday. The blasts were triggered by material ordered online, leaving the family in shock. The Bathinda explosions injured father and son in two different incidents on the same day.
Gurpreet Singh, who had ordered the material, was working with it when the first explosion took place. His hand was severely injured, and he was rushed to Helius Hospital in Bathinda. Later in the evening, while cleaning the room, his father Jagtar Singh suffered serious eye injuries due to another blast. He too was admitted to the hospital. Senior Superintendent of Police Amneet Kaundal reached the spot and inspected the site. Forensic experts also sealed the house for investigation.
Police have launched a probe to identify the nature of the material that caused the blasts. Authorities are checking whether the substance was hazardous and how it was delivered through an online platform. The incident has raised safety concerns in the village.
