The Bathukamma Kunta Lake in Amberpet is gearing up for the upcoming Bathukamma celebrations, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy set to participate in the event on September 25. The lake, which has been rejuvenated under the HYDRA project, will be dedicated to the public on the same day.
On Tuesday, V. Narender Reddy, the Chief Minister’s advisor, and Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi visited the site for an inspection of the preparations. They were joined by key officials, including HYDRA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, and Water Board MD Ashok Reddy.
The officials emphasized the importance of national recognition for the lake and instructed that the Bathukamma festival should be a major event. Mayor Vijayalakshmi and former MP V.H. praised the efforts to free the lake from encroachments and waste, turning it into a beautiful and functional space for public use.
