BC Students Demand Legal Action on CM Revanth

BC leaders say Revanth Reddy BC reservations promise was ignored and demand legal action under the BNS Act.

BC Students Association district president Aythagoni Janardhan Goud demanded legal action against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He said Revanth promised 42% BC reservations during the 2023 Assembly elections. He added that this promise appeared clearly in the Congress manifesto. The BC Students JAC filed a complaint with Two-Town SI Erram Saidulu in Nalgonda.

Janardhan stated that Congress submitted the manifesto to the Election Commission. However, he noted that the government has not moved forward on the promise. Moreover, he said Congress came to power by highlighting BC reservations, caste census, and the BC Commission report. He also argued that the delay shows neglect toward BC communities.

He said Congress promised to raise BC reservations in local bodies from 23% to 42% within six months. Additionally, Congress said it would provide representation to 23,973 BC candidates. He mentioned that the party also announced sub-categorisation and reservation in civil works. Yet, he claimed that no section of these promises reached implementation.

Janardhan demanded legal action against the Congress Party, CM Revanth Reddy, and PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud under the BNS Act. BC JAC leaders Munna Prasanna Kumar, Karnati Yadagiri, Gajji Ajay Kumar, Putta Venkanna, Chilaka Raj Satish, Bharat, Raju, Vijay Chari, Nagaraj and Shiva joined the protest.
