Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar Urges Officials to Expedite Railway Projects
Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar has called on officials to accelerate the progress of railway projects in Belagavi district, stressing the importance of timely completion for regional connectivity and economic growth. During a review meeting, officials updated him on the status of the Belagavi–Kittur–Dharwad new railway line, stating that over 90% of the required land acquisition had been completed.
They added that construction would commence once the Government of Karnataka officially transfers the acquired land to the Railway Department. Shettar emphasised close coordination between state and railway authorities to ensure that bureaucratic delays do not stall the project.
The MP also highlighted the potential benefits of improved rail infrastructure, including reduced travel time, enhanced freight movement, and increased investment opportunities in the district. Officials assured Shettar that all procedural steps were being fast-tracked and committed to keeping him updated on the progress of ongoing and upcoming railway projects.
