A new industry report has revealed that Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR together account for more than half of India’s artificial intelligence (AI) job opportunities, reinforcing their position as the country’s leading technology employment hubs.
The study highlights that Bengaluru continues to dominate AI hiring due to its strong ecosystem of IT companies, startups and global capability centres. Often referred to as India’s technology capital, the city has seen consistent demand for professionals skilled in machine learning, data science, cloud computing and automation technologies.
Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR has rapidly emerged as the second-largest market for AI jobs. The region’s growth is being driven by increasing investments in digital transformation, the expansion of multinational corporations and a growing startup ecosystem. Gurugram and Noida, in particular, have become major centres for AI and analytics hiring.
Together, these two regions account for over 50% of the country’s AI-related job openings, reflecting the concentration of tech infrastructure and innovation hubs. The report also notes that cities such as Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai are witnessing steady growth in AI hiring, though their share remains lower compared to the top two markets.
Demand for AI talent is rising across sectors including IT services, banking, healthcare, e-commerce and manufacturing. Companies are actively recruiting professionals with expertise in generative AI, data engineering and advanced analytics to support digital transformation initiatives.
Industry experts believe India’s AI job market will continue to expand as businesses increase investments in automation and emerging technologies. With strong talent pools and expanding tech ecosystems, Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR are expected to remain at the forefront of AI hiring in the coming years.
