Bengaluru will host a national seminar on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act on January 30 and 31. The event marks the 40th anniversary of Seva-in-Action. It will focus on education and skill development under the RPwD Act.
The Bengaluru seminar on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act will review ten years of policy implementation. Moreover, participants will discuss how the law has shaped inclusive education and employment opportunities. Experts will also highlight areas that still need reform.
Seva-in-Action is organising the seminar in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Government of India. The sessions will take place at St. John’s Medical College on Sarjapur Road.
Additionally, officials, educators, disability rights advocates, and industry leaders will attend the event. They will share experiences from the field. They will also suggest practical solutions to improve access to education and skills.
Meanwhile, discussions will focus on policy gaps and emerging challenges. Therefore, the seminar aims to strengthen coordination between institutions and stakeholders.
