YSRCP leader and former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy expressed strong criticism of current TTD Chairman BR Naidu, accusing him of disrespecting temple protocols and rituals. Bhumana alleged that Naidu mishandled the Shardakarma ceremonies, including personally presenting sacred garments and laddus to TTD additional JEO Venkayya Choudary inappropriately.
He questioned the propriety of giving Vedic blessings on Shardakarma day, claiming Naidu lacks understanding of temple customs, differentiating between bride and widow rituals, and fails to maintain sanctity. Bhumana clarified that his criticism is not personal but directed at the chairman’s objectionable conduct. He further suggested that Naidu is using temple resources to boost real estate interests, referencing the involvement of BR Naidu in G-Square Real Estate.
Bhumana also highlighted ongoing issues with illicit liquor distribution in Andhra Pradesh, criticizing opposition parties for creating false narratives. The remarks underscore concerns about TTD administration and safeguarding the sanctity of Sri Venkateswara Temple rituals.
