Bihar Bhawan in Mumbai has sparked a fresh political controversy after a leader from Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) issued a strong warning to the Bihar government. He said Bihar Bhawan in Mumbai will not be allowed under any circumstances.
The warning came after the Nitish Kumar government approved a proposal to build a new Bhawan in Mumbai. The facility aims to help people from Bihar, especially patients visiting Mumbai for medical treatment.
MNS leader Yashwant Killedar opposed the move and questioned why Bihar wants to spend hundreds of crores outside its own state. He said Bihar should focus on improving hospitals, jobs, and education at home.
The leader also linked the issue to migrant-related tensions in Maharashtra. He warned that the party would protest if construction begins.
The statement has added fuel to the ongoing debate over regional identity and interstate projects.
