Bihar Corruption and Jobs Crisis: Tejashwi Yadav Slams Nitish Kumar’s NDA Government

Tejashwi Yadav addressing media on Bihar corruption and unemployment crisis

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has accused the ruling NDA government in Bihar of pushing the state toward a “time bomb of corruption and unemployment.” Addressing reporters on Sunday, the former deputy chief minister claimed that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s administration is making election promises that would cost the exchequer an unaffordable ₹7 lakh crore.

Tejashwi alleged that the government’s new welfare announcements are merely repackaged versions of commitments he had proposed earlier. “They are offering schemes only to woo voters before the upcoming polls. But they lack the revenue to deliver on these promises,” Yadav said, warning that Bihar is already struggling with high joblessness and systemic graft.

He also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar directly, accusing them of ignoring the worsening employment situation. “Bihar is sitting on a time bomb of corruption and unemployment, and the people will not forgive this betrayal,” Tejashwi declared.

Responding to the charges, JD(U) working president Sanjay Jha defended the NDA’s performance. He highlighted the progress made since the RJD’s exit in 2005, pointing to improvements in infrastructure and women’s empowerment. “Tejashwi can continue his wishful thinking, but the people of Bihar have seen the strides made under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,” Jha said.

With elections nearing, the political war of words signals a fierce contest over governance, jobs, and corruption—issues likely to dominate Bihar’s campaign trail in the coming months.
