RJD is preparing a strong comeback for the Bihar Election 2025. The party has identified over 135 assembly seats and already shortlisted more than 110 candidates. Each candidate is completing procedures to get the party symbol. RJD leaders said they are ready to contest at least 135 seats, with full preparation for 137. A few seats may be shared with allies in the Grand Alliance.
In 2020, RJD fought 144 seats and won 75. This time, it focuses on areas like Siwan, Raghopur, Hathua, and Sheikhpura, where it has finalized candidates. Over a dozen sitting MLAs are likely to lose tickets to fresh faces. The party might offer 2–3 seats to allies in Mithila under the VIP quota but aims to maintain dominance.
RJD plans to avoid past mistakes from 2020, when it lost 69 seats. Its main goal now is to secure a clear edge and reclaim Bihar’s political ground.
