Family clash linked to Bihar election violence in Madhya Pradesh

A shocking case linked to Bihar election violence has come from Guna district in Madhya Pradesh. A small family argument over the Bihar results soon turned into a deadly fight. The clash grew fast because all three men had consumed alcohol. The topic of Bihar election violence came up while they were drinking, and the discussion heated up within minutes.

Shankar Manjhi, a 22-year-old labourer from Shivhar district in Bihar, supported the RJD. His two maternal uncles, Rajesh Manjhi and Toofani Manjhi, backed the JDU. Both sides started accusing each other over the results. Verbal abuse followed, and anger rose sharply.

Moments later, Rajesh and Toofani attacked Shankar. They dragged him toward a muddy patch nearby. In a fit of rage, they pushed his mouth into water and mud. They kept pressing until Shankar stopped breathing. Residents informed the police after noticing the situation.

A police team rushed to the spot and took Shankar to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Officers soon arrested both uncles. During questioning, the two men confessed to the crime.

Police have registered a murder case and begun further legal action.
