Bihar Flood Protection Budget Approved: Ring Dam Planned to Protect Darbhanga AIIMS

Bihar Flood Protection Budget ring dam project to protect Darbhanga AIIMS from flooding

The Bihar Flood Protection Budget of ₹1,117 crore will fund major flood control work across the state. The government approved 384 protection projects before the upcoming monsoon season. Officials want to reduce flood damage in vulnerable districts. The Bihar Flood Protection Budget also focuses on protecting important public projects.

A key project includes building a ring dam around the upcoming AIIMS hospital in Darbhanga. This dam will help protect the hospital from floodwater and waterlogging. Engineers will also build drainage systems and pump houses near the site. These steps will help control excess rainwater during heavy rains.

The Bihar State Flood Control Council approved the projects during its 66th meeting in Patna. Officials asked engineers to check embankments and finish repairs before the monsoon arrives.

The Darbhanga AIIMS project will serve people across north Bihar. The government wants strong flood protection around this major healthcare center.
