The Bihar-Jharkhand crime connection has come to light after police recovered gold jewellery worth ₹12 crore in a major breakthrough. The crime took place in the Ranchi Sadar police station area, where a couple was targeted by professional snatchers.
Police said the jewellery was stolen by members of the Koira gang. The gang allegedly operates across state borders, committing crimes in Jharkhand and escaping to Bihar to avoid arrest. The recovery has once again highlighted the Bihar-Jharkhand crime connection in organised snatching cases.
Katihar Police carried out the operation with support from Ranchi Police. Acting on technical inputs, CCTV footage, and scientific investigation, teams traced the accused to Jurabgani village under Koira police station limits.
The main accused, identified as Ram Kumar Yadav, was arrested after a joint raid. Police recovered around 426 grams of gold jewellery and 452 grams of silver items from his house. The seized ornaments were later handed over to Ranchi Sadar Police Station.
Officials confirmed that an FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway. Police believe the Kodha gang has committed similar crimes in several neighbouring states.
