A Bihar mining data operator shooting case in Saharsa created fear on Monday evening. The victim, Mrityunjay Kumar, works as a data operator in the mining department in Jamui. He had come home on leave and was returning from his village to Santnagar. He planned to go back to Jamui the next morning. The Bihar mining data operator shooting happened near Jarsain village.
Mrityunjay rode his scooter when a bike-borne criminal began to follow him. The attacker came close, overtook him, and fired two shots. Mrityunjay called a relative for help and reached a private hospital on Gandhi Path. Police officials, including Sadar SDPO Alok Kumar, Line DSP Omprakash, and Sadar Police Station chief Subodh Kumar, reached the hospital to check on him.
Police also visited the crime spot and found a bullet shell. Officers said they received information at around 7:15 pm. A forensic team has joined the investigation. Police are checking the motive behind the shooting.
This is the second firing incident in the district within two days. Another shooting took place in Sonvarsha on Sunday. The victim’s family wants quick action. Police said they will take strict steps soon.
