Bihar NDA Seat-Sharing Talks Heat Up as Allies Demand More

Bihar NDA seat-sharing meeting

The Bihar NDA seat-sharing discussions between JDU and BJP have hit a tricky phase. Both parties decided to settle their allies’ demands before finalizing their own seats. The BJP has been tasked to resolve seat distribution for LJP (R), RLSP, and HAM first. The JDU insists that only after this will it discuss its division with the BJP. The plan was a 50-50 seat split, but the allies’ new demands have complicated matters.

Chirag Paswan’s LJP (R) is demanding 40 seats, Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM wants 20, and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s HAM seeks 15. Together, these total 75 seats, leaving only 168 for the JDU-BJP combine. Both main parties wish to contest around 101–103 each, while JDU alone has demanded 109. With none of the allies willing to compromise, discussions have become intense. The final formula is expected within two days as the BJP works on balancing everyone’s expectations in the Bihar NDA seat-sharing deal.
