A controversy erupted after alleged abuses against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother at an RJD rally in Darbhanga. BJP shared a video claiming that protesters raised slogans insulting the PM’s mother during Tejashwi Yadav’s speech. RJD rejected the claim, calling the video doctored.
Bihar BJP accused Tejashwi Yadav of encouraging the abusive slogans. Congress defended its ally, blaming the BJP for weak governance. Party leaders said the NIA could have acted but no strict measures were taken.
Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Surendra Rajput criticised BJP for seeking votes in the PM’s mother’s name. Purnea MP Pappu Yadav called the abuses unacceptable. He urged authorities to punish the offenders and said insulting mothers harms societal values.
PM Modi responded, warning that the people of Bihar and India would not tolerate abuse of his mother. Earlier, similar abuses occurred during the ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ led by Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi. The incident intensified political tensions ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
