The PM Awas Yojana Bihar verification process has started again after the Bihar elections. The state government plans to check the details of one crore families who were listed during the earlier survey. The PM Awas Yojana Bihar verification aims to confirm which families truly need support for a new house.
A door-to-door survey identified 10 million families across Bihar. Out of these, two million families also applied online on the official portal. Survey work continued until May 15, 2025. Now, the Rural Development Department has ordered panchayat, block, and district teams to complete verification quickly.
Special committees will handle the process at each level. Panchayat committees will verify details and send reports to the block office. Block Development Officers will check these reports. District committees, led by the Deputy Development Commissioner, will complete the final review.
After verification, a final list will be prepared and approved in a Gram Sabha meeting.
Families with a government employee will not receive benefits. Families earning more than ₹15,000 per month or paying income or business tax also do not qualify. Farmers with four-wheelers, power tillers, or more than the allowed land limit are not eligible. This ensures the scheme supports only the poorest families.
