The Bihari contractors preference in road tenders up to ₹50 crore policy has been approved by the government led by Samrat Choudhary. The decision aims to support local contractors and boost participation from companies based in the state.
Under the new rule, the Bihari contractors preference in road tenders up to ₹50 crore will apply to road construction projects handled by the Bihar Road Construction Department. Projects valued between ₹25 lakh and ₹50 crore will prioritize contractors registered in Bihar.
The state cabinet approved changes in the public works rules to implement the policy. Officials believe the move will increase opportunities for local contractors and help strengthen the state’s construction sector.
The government has already allocated large funds for road and infrastructure development in Bihar. Several new road projects and connectivity plans are underway to improve transportation across the state.
Leaders say the decision will help local businesses grow and ensure more contracts stay within the state economy.
