BJP strengthens NDA for 2026 T.N. Assembly polls with new election in-charge
BJP eyes a stronger NDA for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections with fresh appointments to its poll management team. On December 15, BJP national president J.P. Nadda appointed Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal as the party’s election in-charge for Tamil Nadu.
The party said the move is aimed at boosting coordination among alliance partners and energising grassroots workers in the State. Mr. Goyal, a senior leader with extensive organisational experience, will oversee election preparations, strategy formulation, and mobilisation of cadres across constituencies.
BJP leaders noted that strengthening the NDA in Tamil Nadu is crucial to expanding the party’s footprint in a State traditionally dominated by regional parties. The leadership plans to focus on alliance-building, campaign planning, and public outreach in the months leading to the polls.
The party will also conduct meetings with State leaders and key allies to ensure cohesive strategy and targeted campaigning for the 2026 Assembly elections. BJP eyes a stronger NDA as part of its long-term plan to increase influence in Tamil Nadu politics.
