The Bharatiya Janata Party recorded a decisive victory in Arunachal Pradesh’s local body elections. The results strengthened BJP’s grip at district and grassroots levels. The Congress once again failed to make a meaningful comeback in the state.

Khandu thanked citizens for their trust and support. He added that the strong mandate would energise efforts to build a developed Arunachal Pradesh.

The counting of votes for panchayat and municipal bodies concluded on Saturday. The SEC stated that BJP’s performance clearly established its dominance at the district level. The National People’s Party won five seats, including one unopposed. Independent and other candidates secured 23 seats.
