BPSC Interview Reforms: IAS, IPS Officers Join Panel on UPSC Pattern

BPSC Interview Reforms with IAS and IPS officers in civil services interview panel

BPSC Interview Reforms have brought a major change to the selection process for Bihar’s civil services. The Bihar Public Service Commission has decided to include serving IAS and IPS officers in interview panels, following a system similar to the UPSC.

Under the new BPSC Interview Reforms, these officers will assess candidates’ decision-making ability, leadership skills, and administrative understanding during interviews. The change has already been implemented in the interview stage of the 70th Combined Competitive Examination.

Earlier, interview panels mainly included BPSC members, retired officials, and academics. Now, experienced IAS and IPS officers will help evaluate candidates’ real-world administrative capabilities and crisis-management skills.

Officials say the reform aims to improve transparency and bring the state recruitment system closer to the UPSC model. The move is expected to help select more capable officers for Bihar’s administration. Meanwhile, the 71st CCE Mains is expected soon, while the 72nd prelims may take place in July.
