‘Bussy’ Anand, Aadhav Arjuna Appear Before CBI in Stampede Probe
Two senior Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leaders, “Bussy” Anand and Aadhav Arjuna, appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Karur on Monday for questioning related to the Karur stampede case. They were accompanied by party Karur West district secretary K.P. Mathiyazhagan and functionary M.C. Pounraj as they arrived at the CBI team’s camp office. The stampede, which occurred during a public event, has led to multiple inquiries into organisational lapses and possible violations of safety norms. The CBI is examining the sequence of events, crowd management arrangements, and the role of various individuals involved in planning the programme. The leaders were reportedly questioned about permissions obtained for the event, the expected crowd size, and precautionary measures in place. TVK sources stated that the leaders cooperated fully with the investigation. The CBI is expected to question more witnesses and analyse technical evidence as part of its ongoing probe.
