However, his family rejected this claim. His wife said she met him two days earlier and he looked normal. She also alleged that she saw injury marks on his body and demanded strict action against those responsible.
Angry relatives and local residents staged a protest outside the jail. They blocked roads and demanded a fair investigation. Police registered a case and promised a thorough probe.
