Cancelled Trains: Haryana–Punjab Route Severely Hit by Fog and Redevelopment Work for Next Three Months

Northern Railway has cancelled several key passenger and express trains operating between Haryana and Punjab due to dense fog, station interlocking work, and large-scale redevelopment projects. Officials said train operations on these routes will remain heavily affected for the next three months as visibility drops sharply in winter and ongoing infrastructure upgrades slow down traffic movement.

Interlocking work at Dhuri station has led to the cancellation of seven trains between December 3 and February 5. These include services on routes such as Bhivani–Dhuri, Dhuri–Sirsa, Sirsa–Ludhiana, Ludhiana–Hisar and Hisar–Amritsar. In Ludhiana, redevelopment work has resulted in five more cancellations from December 1 to February 23 across Ludhiana–Churu and Hisar–Ludhiana routes.

Additionally, due to continuous dense fog, two long-distance trains — Ajmer–Amritsar and Amritsar–Ajmer — will remain suspended from December 4 to February 26. Authorities urged passengers to check train numbers, dates, and routes before planning their journeys.
