Chandigarh, December 2, 2025: Punjab Finance Minister Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday emphasized the growing importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), stating that every corporate entity must engage in CSR activities and stay accountable to society.
He made this remark while formally receiving a major contribution to the Chief Minister’s Rangla Punjab Fund. The donation—₹31 lakh—was handed over by Capital Small Finance Bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Sarvjit Singh Samra.
Cheema appreciated the bank’s significant contribution and their strong commitment to social accountability. Highlighting the purpose of the fund, the Finance Minister said that donations to the Rangla Punjab Fund are used specifically to support families across the state who were affected by this year’s devastating floods.
He added that Capital Small Finance Bank’s generous support will directly strengthen ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts for these impacted families.
