CBI Brings Back Wanted Economic Offender Munawar Khan from Kuwait

“CBI officials escorting economic offender Munawar Khan after arrival at Hyderabad airport”

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has successfully brought back most-wanted economic offender Munawar Khan from Kuwait. He was wanted in connection with fraud and forged documents cases. The operation was executed with the support of Interpol channels, the International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU) of CBI, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), and Kuwait’s NCB.

The CBI had earlier issued a Red Notice against Khan and pursued him for several months. On September 11, Kuwaiti police escorted him to Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Upon arrival, CBI’s Special Task Branch team from Chennai took him into custody.

Khan faces charges of creating fake documents and carrying out fraudulent activities. His arrest is expected to give fresh momentum to the investigation. CBI officials said the breakthrough highlights the agency’s determination to track down and extradite fugitives involved in economic crimes.

The agency emphasized that international cooperation was crucial in securing Khan’s return. The case demonstrates India’s ability to work with global law enforcement partners to bring criminals back to face justice, setting a strong precedent for future operations.
