Nishikant Dubey Alleges Congress Role in LN Mishra’s Murder

Nishikant Dubey alleges Congress role in LN Mishra murder

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has accused Congress leaders of involvement in the 1975 assassination of former Railway Minister Lalit Narayan Mishra. Nishikant Dubey made the claim while speaking to ANI, saying that over 150 Congress MPs received Soviet Union funding. He referred to a declassified CIA document from 2011 to support his allegation.

Lalit Narayan Mishra died on January 2, 1975, in a bomb blast at Samastipur Railway Station in Bihar. He was inaugurating the Samastipur–Muzaffarpur broad gauge railway line. The blast also killed Surya Narain Jha, an MLC, and Ram Kishore Prasad Singh, a railway clerk. Several others suffered injuries in the incident.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigated the case. In 2014, the CBI convicted four individuals, including members of the Ananda Marga group. However, Nishikant Dubey argued that the investigation overlooked political motives and ignored links to the Congress party.

Dubey’s allegations have revived public debate. Many are now questioning whether the assassination was purely an extremist act or had deeper political backing. Congress leaders have not responded to Dubey’s claims so far.

This statement comes amid a larger political discourse on accountability in high-profile cases. Dubey emphasized the need for a transparent reinvestigation of Mishra’s murder. He believes it will clarify unresolved questions and address public concerns.

The case remains a sensitive chapter in Indian politics. Nishikant Dubey’s recent claims may reignite discussions about political interference in legal proceedings. They also highlight the continuing intersection of politics, justice, and history.
