The CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) has initiated a preliminary probe into the Kaleshwaram project following allegations of corruption and irregularities. The investigation will focus on claims of mismanagement and misuse of authority within the project, as highlighted in the NDSA report.
State authorities had recently written to the CBI requesting a detailed inquiry, citing concerns over procedural lapses and financial discrepancies. The preliminary investigation will assess the available evidence and determine whether a formal FIR should be registered for further action.
Officials stated that the probe aims to ensure transparency and accountability in the project’s execution, which has been a major irrigation initiative in Telangana. The CBI’s involvement reflects the seriousness of the allegations and the government’s commitment to addressing potential misuse of public funds and resources.
