Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, currently on an official visit to Delhi, met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday. The meeting focused on the recent heavy rains in Telangana that caused widespread crop and property damage.
CM Reddy handed over a detailed report prepared by state officials to the Finance Minister. He urged the Centre to release funds immediately on an emergency basis to support farmers and families who lost their livelihoods in the floods. “People have lost everything due to the disaster. We request urgent assistance,” he said.
The Chief Minister also explained the state government’s initiative to set up integrated schools aimed at providing international-standard education for poor and middle-class students. He requested central funding support for the construction of these schools, saying the project would play a vital role in uplifting future generations.
Earlier in the day, CM Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Telangana Congress MPs, met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The courtesy call emphasized Telangana’s cooperation with national institutions while highlighting the state’s pressing needs in education and disaster recovery.
