Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to introduce a Comprehensive Welfare Card for citizens receiving government benefits. The Comprehensive Welfare Card will bring all welfare scheme details under a single system for better transparency and faster delivery of services.
The government plans to include details related to Aarogyasri, fee reimbursement, labour welfare schemes, insurance benefits, pensions, and other state welfare programmes in one unified database. Officials held a high-level review meeting in Hyderabad to discuss the project.
The Comprehensive Welfare Card will also use Artificial Intelligence-based profiling to identify eligible beneficiaries and remove fake or duplicate records. The state government is considering a unique identification number similar to Aadhaar for the new system.
CM Revanth Reddy said the new card will help the government track welfare benefits efficiently and ensure support reaches poor families without delays. Officials will soon begin a special data collection drive across all departments.
