Prime Minister Modi on inter-state water disputes advised states to resolve river water issues through cooperation and technology. He said states should work together and avoid delays in important water projects.

During the PRAGATI review meeting, Modi discussed several infrastructure projects worth around Rs 30,000 crore. He reviewed projects related to railways, roads, and the power sector across nine states. Prime Minister Modi on inter-state water disputes also highlighted the need for timely approvals and better monitoring systems.

The Prime Minister said the Ken-Betwa river-linking project should become a model for the country. He encouraged states to focus on river linking, water conservation, groundwater recharge, and efficient irrigation systems for long-term water security.

His remarks gained attention as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana continue to face disagreements over Krishna and Godavari river water sharing. The ongoing disputes over irrigation projects and water distribution remain a major issue between the two Telugu states.
