Congress finalizes candidates for 17 seats in Bihar Election 2025

Congress finalizes candidates for 17 seats in Bihar Election 2025. The party confirmed that all its 17 sitting MLAs will get tickets again. This means no current Congress MLA will lose their chance to contest the upcoming polls.

The decision came after the party’s screening committee meeting in New Delhi. Leaders including Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru, state president Rajesh Ram, and legislature party leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan attended the discussions. They reviewed candidate names and finalized the list.

Earlier, the Bihar Pradesh Election Committee met in Patna and authorized the high command to select candidates. The final approval came on Friday in Delhi.

In the 2020 elections, Congress contested 70 seats as part of the Grand Alliance and won 19. Later, two MLAs shifted to the NDA, leaving the party with 17 members. These same 17 MLAs will now contest again in 2025.

This move shows the party’s confidence in its current legislators as it prepares for the Bihar Election 2025. Congress leaders believe their experience will help strengthen the party’s position in the state.
