Congress Panel Begins Consultations with TNCC on DMK Seat-Sharing
A Congress panel on Sunday held consultations with leaders of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) to discuss seat-sharing arrangements with the DMK ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. AICC in-charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Girish Chodankar, said the meeting aimed to assess the Congress’s organisational strengths and weaknesses, refine its electoral approach, and understand expectations from alliance partners. Senior TNCC leaders presented constituency-level feedback, highlighting areas where the party has strong influence and regions where additional support may be needed. Chodankar emphasised the importance of data-driven planning and cohesive coordination within the alliance to maximise electoral prospects. The discussions also focused on candidate selection, campaign messaging, and strategies to strengthen grassroots mobilisation. Party sources said the consultations are part of a broader effort by the Congress high command to streamline negotiations with the DMK and ensure a balanced, mutually beneficial seat-sharing formula. More rounds of talks are expected in the coming weeks.
