The Corrupt SHO Abhishek Ranjan case has taken a new turn as Bihar’s Economic Offences Unit (EOU) plans to question the officer in connection with the investigation against suspended DSP Gautam Kumar. Officials suspect that Corrupt SHO Abhishek Ranjan played a key role and may hold important information related to the case.
Investigators say Ranjan served as a close associate of the former SDPO. The probe revealed links between him and local sand, liquor, and smuggling mafias. Authorities believe he received regular commissions in return for protecting illegal businesses.
The EOU has issued a notice asking him to appear at its Patna office next week. During questioning, he must present documents and explain his income sources.
Preliminary findings suggest that Ranjan accumulated around ₹50 crore worth of assets during his service. Officials are verifying several properties, including flats and land in multiple cities.
The investigation continues as the agency checks suspected benami properties and financial records connected to the case.
