CPI-ML Demands 40 Seats, Sparks Tension in Mahagathbandhan

CPI-ML demands 40 seats in Mahagathbandhan ahead of Bihar elections

The Bihar Assembly elections are approaching, and seat-sharing talks in the Mahagathbandhan are turning tense. The CPI-ML has claimed 40 seats, even before an official announcement from the INDIA bloc leaders. This move has raised eyebrows among political observers.

CPI-ML State Secretary Comrade Kunal confirmed that the party is ready to contest 40 seats. He said the list has already been submitted to the Mahagathbandhan leadership. At a press conference in Motihari, he recalled how CPI-ML had earlier fought both Lok Sabha and Assembly polls with the alliance, which boosted the coalition’s strength and inspired workers.

However, the public demand by CPI-ML has created speculation of friction within the Mahagathbandhan. Congress and RJD have also staked their claims, but no final agreement has been declared yet. Several meetings have taken place in Delhi and Patna, but the seat-sharing formula remains undecided.

The early claim by CPI-ML shows growing competition among allies. Political experts believe such moves may complicate talks but also highlight the importance of each partner in the alliance. How Mahagathbandhan leaders resolve these claims will decide the shape of the final seat-sharing arrangement.
