CPI(M) Demands Action as A.P. Govt. Remains Silent on Ganja Gang Violence
The CPI(M) has sharply criticised the Andhra Pradesh government for what it described as a troubling silence on the growing activities of ganja gangs and the recent murder of Penchalayya. Party leaders said the government’s failure to respond effectively has raised serious concerns about law and order in the State.
Speaking in Vijayawada, CPI(M) representatives alleged that organised criminal networks involved in narcotics were expanding their operations due to inadequate policing and lack of political will. They said Penchalayya’s murder reflected the deteriorating safety situation and demanded that the government come clean on the status of the investigation.
The party urged authorities to launch a comprehensive crackdown on drug trafficking, strengthen surveillance in vulnerable regions, and ensure accountability at all levels. CPI(M) leaders also called for transparency in probe reports and assured continued pressure on the government until concrete action is taken against the gangs responsible.
