The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has flagged security protocol “violations” allegedly committed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his travels. The force raised concerns about his unscheduled movements without prior intimation, both in India and before his recent foreign trip. The CRPF flags security protocol violations by Rahul Gandhi note has been formally shared with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.
Rahul Gandhi, the 55-year-old Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, receives ‘Z plus’ security cover from CRPF’s VIP wing. Around 10-12 armed CRPF commandos provide close protection whenever he moves. The Advanced Security Liaison (ASL) team also conducts advance checks of locations to be visited.
According to sources, Gandhi sometimes moved without informing the CRPF in advance, which created difficulties for his security team. Officials said the paramilitary force has reminded the Congress leadership about the importance of following protocols to ensure his safety.
CRPF sources added that such reminders are routine and have been issued earlier as well. They emphasized that scheduled communication is vital for the safety of VIP protectees, especially given Gandhi’s frequent travel schedule.
