Delhi Baba Arrested After 17 Women Accuse Him of Sexual Harassment

Sexual Harassment

Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Partha Sarathy, was arrested in Agra after 50 days on the run. Police caught him at a Taj Ganj hotel around 3:30 am. He worked as the director of the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj. Students accused him of sexual harassment, sending vulgar messages, and making unwanted physical contact.

The first complaint came from an alumnus. Soon after, the Air Force Directorate of Education received similar complaints. Many students at the institute were children of Air Force families. Seventeen women later filed a joint FIR at the Defence Colony Police Station.

The women said he lured them with promises of foreign trips and called them to his room. They also revealed that he placed hidden cameras inside the women’s hostel.

The institute expelled him. The Sringeri-based Sri Sharada Peetha, which ran the Delhi ashram, said his behaviour was “inappropriate.”

Chaitanyananda promoted himself as a scholar and author. He claimed MBA and PhD degrees from Chicago and said he wrote 28 books. He even boasted praise from global leaders. But his arrest has now exposed a darker truth.
