Delhi Blast Probe: Arrested Doctor Had Surveyed Red Fort Area Months Before Explosion
An ongoing investigation into the blast near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi has revealed that one of the prime suspects, Dr Muzammil Ganaie, conducted multiple reconnaissance visits to the area in January 2025. Mobile dump data from his phone shows repeated entries in and around the monument’s vicinity, suggesting the visits were part of a broader plot targeting Republic Day (January 26).
The explosion itself is now believed to have been premature, as the suspect hurried the detonation due to intense police raids underway. Authorities recovered large quantities of explosives and have transferred the matter to the National Investigation Agency for a full terror-angle probe. The case has triggered heightened alerts across Delhi and surrounding states as investigators map funding links, logistics, and digital footprints.
