DEO Vacancies Telangana: Harish Rao Targets Government Over 30 Empty Posts

DEO Vacancies Telangana issue raised by Harish Rao during Siddipet meeting

Former minister Harish Rao raised concerns over the DEO Vacancies Telangana issue and criticized the state government for failing to fill key education department posts. He said only three regular District Education Officers (DEOs) are working across 33 districts.

Speaking at an event in Siddipet, Harish Rao said the government has left 30 DEO posts vacant. He claimed that additional collectors, joint collectors, ZP CEOs, and IAS officers are handling DEO responsibilities. According to him, this prevents officials from giving full attention to education.

Harish Rao said the DEO Vacancies Telangana problem is affecting the education system across the state. He demanded the immediate appointment of regular DEOs in all districts.

He also alleged that the government stopped the “Mana Ooru Mana Badi” programme midway due to political reasons. He said school development work has slowed down and no major new classroom construction is taking place.

The former minister further claimed that sanitation and maintenance bills remain pending for several months. He said teachers and headmasters are facing financial pressure because of delayed payments and retirement benefits.
