Dhinakaran sees coalition government emerging in Tamil Nadu after the 2026 Assembly elections and expects cabinet representation for his party. Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) founder T.T.V. Dhinakaran expressed confidence that the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) could form a coalition government in the state.
Speaking to reporters in Madurai, Dhinakaran said political observers believe the current situation favours a coalition model. According to him, this scenario opens the door for AMMK leaders to secure cabinet berths if the NDA comes to power. He stressed that alliances play a crucial role in Tamil Nadu’s evolving political landscape.
Moreover, Dhinakaran said his party continues to strengthen its grassroots presence across the state. He added that AMMK workers remain committed to representing the aspirations of the people. He also highlighted the importance of unity among like-minded parties to counter the ruling dispensation.
Notably, Dhinakaran sees coalition government as a practical outcome given voter sentiment and fragmented political equations. He maintained that AMMK’s support base could prove decisive in close contests.
Finally, Dhinakaran reiterated his belief that AMMK will play a meaningful role in governance if the NDA secures a mandate in 2026.
