In a decisive drug crackdown in Ferozepur, police arrested two men in separate operations and seized 18,180 intoxicating capsules and tablets. The action reflects the district police’s firm stand against the growing drug menace.
First, acting on a tip-off, police intercepted Gagandeep Pal, alias Gagan, on Zira Road near Ferozepur Cantt. During a search, officers recovered 6,980 intoxicating capsules and 1,600 tablets from his possession. Since the recovery fell under commercial quantity, police registered a case under the NDPS Act. Investigators said Gagandeep played an active role in drug trafficking and tried to smuggle contraband into the city.
Meanwhile, in another drug crackdown in Ferozepur, police arrested Ashok Kumar in the Malsian Kalan area. Officers conducted the raid after receiving reports of illegal medicine sales. They seized 9,600 Pregabalin capsules, commonly misused as intoxicants. Authorities booked Ashok Kumar under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for violating official prohibitory orders.
Furthermore, Ferozepur Police reaffirmed their resolve to dismantle drug supply networks. They also urged citizens to share timely information and support anti-drug efforts.
