The Election Commission (EC) has informed the Telangana state government that it is fully prepared to conduct local body elections. In an official letter, the EC indicated that if all conditions are favorable, the election schedule could be released on September 29.
The EC has requested the government to provide the necessary election plan to ensure smooth conduct. Authorities have already made arrangements to complete the elections within a month and have published the voters’ list for public reference.
Meanwhile, the Telangana government is reportedly preparing to issue a special Government Order (GO) regarding BC reservations, which will be implemented alongside the local elections. These steps highlight both the administrative readiness of the EC and the government’s effort to address reservation-related requirements ahead of the polls, ensuring that the local elections are conducted efficiently and transparently.
