Exhibitor Percentages Issue: Tollywood Forms Sub-Committee to Resolve Theatre Revenue Dispute

Exhibitor Percentages Issue meeting at Telugu Film Chamber discussing theatre revenue sharing

The Exhibitor Percentages Issue in the Telugu film industry has pushed the film chamber to take a major step. To resolve the long-running revenue sharing dispute between theatre owners and producers, the film chamber formed a special sub-committee during a key meeting held in Hyderabad.

During the meeting, representatives from producers, distributors, and exhibitors discussed the Exhibitor Percentages Issue and the growing concerns over theatre revenue sharing and rising operational costs. Industry leaders said the committee will study the percentage system used in theatres and recommend a fair structure for all stakeholders.

The committee will be chaired by D. Suresh Babu, while Allu Aravind and Dil Raju will serve as conveners. Producers K. L. Narayana and K. Ashok Kumar will also be part of the panel.

Members from the three sectors—producers, distributors, and exhibitors—will jointly review issues such as ticket revenue sharing and theatre maintenance costs. The committee will soon submit its recommendations to the film chamber, and industry insiders expect the move to bring a balanced solution to the ongoing dispute.
