A letter circulating on social media, allegedly issued by the “Sher-e-Punjab” brigade, claimed responsibility for the murder. The message accused the Arora family of celebrating Operation Blue Star in 1984. Police officers refused to accept the letter as credible and said it might distract the investigation.
Sources said the shooters carried out reconnaissance before the attack and may be contract killers. However, the exact motive—personal or ideological—remains unclear, and the investigation continues.
