The first flight lands successfully at Bhogapuram International Airport, marking a historic milestone for Andhra Pradesh’s aviation sector. The landmark event signals the airport’s readiness for commercial operations and future expansion.
Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu arrived on the flight, accompanied by Vizianagaram MP Kalisetti Appala Naidu and other public representatives. The aircraft touched down smoothly on the newly constructed 3.8 km-long runway.
Officials said the landing validated the airport’s core infrastructure, including runway strength, navigation systems, and safety arrangements. Engineers and aviation authorities closely monitored the operation.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the first flight lands successfully at Bhogapuram International Airport demonstrated the Centre and State’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity. He added that the airport would serve as a major gateway for north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
