Forces establish contact with terrorists after Kishtwar encounter

Security forces have made contact with terrorists who have been on the run since an encounter that killed an Army Havildar in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. Officials said the contact was established during an intensified search operation in the forested areas.

The encounter took place in the Chhatru area, which has witnessed terrorist movement over the past two years. After the death of the Havildar, additional troops were deployed, and search operations were expanded to track down the militants.

Officials said the terrorists are believed to be hiding in dense forests and using natural terrain to evade security forces. Cordon-and-search operations are underway, with the Army, police, and paramilitary forces working in coordination.

Senior officers said the focus remains on preventing the militants from escaping to nearby areas. Surveillance has been stepped up, and villagers have been advised to report any suspicious movement.

Forces make contact with terrorists on the run as part of sustained counter-terror operations in the region. Officials said such operations will continue to ensure security and curb militant activity in Kishtwar and adjoining districts.
