France Eases Visa Process

Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday announced that France will simplify visa procedures and increase English-taught courses for Indian students. The move aims to deepen academic cooperation between India and France. France eases visa process, boosts English courses for Indian students to strengthen educational ties.

Speaking at the campus of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Macron reaffirmed France’s commitment to boosting student mobility. He said France and India currently exchange 10,000 students per year. By 2030, France will increase that number to 30,000. He promised to streamline visa and sourcing procedures and strengthen institutional support to make the process practical for students.

During the visit, Macron joined Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda to inaugurate the Indo-French Campus on Artificial Intelligence in Global Health at AIIMS. This initiative will promote AI-driven healthcare research and strengthen bilateral academic ties.

Macron highlighted France’s world-class teaching and research centres. He said Indian students will benefit from interdisciplinary collaboration and access to top faculty. Moreover, he emphasised that France will expand English-taught programmes, making higher education more accessible.

The Indo-French Campus will support capacity building, research, and innovation in AI for global health. It also aims to strengthen academic and technological partnerships between India and France.
